The point of departure
Mural painting has been practiced throughout human history in every great civilisations. The oldest mural works known to date are those in the Chauvet Cave in Ardèche, painted 33,000 years ago. As direct descendants of these first “muralists”, we aim to pursue and transmit this universal discipline, by making our contribution to innovation in homage to our mural painting ancestors.
Following the pleasure of research for the Lumière Mural, we designed and produced this pictural work with the aid of the famous illustrator François Schuiten, the strip cartoonist. This work takes is viewers to the brink of the third millennium, thanks to a futuristic vision of Lyon, portrayed by nocturnal stage setting accentuated by dynamic lighting.
