Monumental mural design progresses at Vallonnière – (Greater Lyon) – Vilogia

Following the first two monumental works produced this year, CitéCréation is now attacking the third work that brings to light the full wealth of
the fauna and flora of this approach into Greater Lyon.
The image will be completed in synchronisation with the refurbishment operations that include this building undertaken by the Vilogia Groupe.
Nestled in a narrow gorge, the area of Vallonnière was until recently a wood overlooking the marshy plain of the district of Vaise where the River
Saone has long marked the landscape.
The Vallonnière floats between land and sky; on the land of its Roman remains, with the influence of the Renaissance period, its nurseries of the
“King” and now its allotment gardens.
Close to the once wild but now tamed waters of the Saone, the Cressonnière de Vaise is the home of animal species that now enrich the urban
biodiversity of Greater Lyon.
This monumental mural design, conceived and produced jointly with the architect in charge of the refurbishment, reveals the full wealth of this
natural history.
This new monumental mural design will greet the tens of thousands of car drivers that arrive every day before the northern entry to Lyon before
disappearing into Fourvière tunnel. Just the thing to relieve the stress of being trapped in a traffic jam!
Contracting owner: Vilogia Groupe. Project manager: Atelier A+, architects.

In 2015, Vilogia launched a huge project of monumental embellishment on its property of 450 dwellings at Vallonnière in Lyon. Part of a
refurbishment and housing programme, the aim of this project was to improve the living environment of the tenants by combining aesthetic
considerations with energy efficiency. Vilogia commissioned a monumental mural design project from CitéCréation, placing particular emphasis on
the challenge of joint creation with the residents.
