The Bella dolls are well established…
From now on, three murals adorn the walls of the social housing of the Pont-Rouge residence, owned by the social landlord Habitat Perpignan Méditerranée, in the Vernet district where the Bella company factories were located.
The murals show Bella dolls in an environment reminiscent of the city of Perpignan and the Pyrénées-Orientales department. The choice of erecting them in the Vernet district is anything but a coincidence: it is in this part of the city of Perpignan that the famous Bella dolls were made. Gigantic dolls, not in toys but in paint. The walls of the Pont-Rouge residence in Perpignan are now decorated with three large murals, each measuring 11 metres high and 9 metres wide.
This is not the only nod to the district’s industrial heritage, a Bella museum was inaugurated in 2008 at the Espace Primavera in Haut-Vernet, where no fewer than 500 examples of these dolls can be found.
