Chaumont Habitat, a social landlord, is keen to embellish its residence
Chaumont Habitat has embarked on a large-scale renovation of its residences in the Ribot district of Chaumont (Haute Marne).
This renovation concerns on the one hand the energy issue and on the other hand aesthetics with the desire to create monumental murals on the facades of its buildings, in consultation with the inhabitants.
In 2020, a first consultation meeting with the residents took place. This meeting defined the thematic choices that the team of painters and mural designers of CitéCréation drew on paper. In 2021, the inhabitants validated the models. The first brush strokes will take place very soon.
The tenants of Chaumont Habitat and the local residents, thanks to their active participation, have taken on the role of ambassadors and will be able to help in the future to understand the work so that everyone can appropriate it. For the CitéCréation team, “what is important is the process we went through together, the social landlord, the residents and the muralists. There was a great deal of support from the residents.
During the design of the models, Chaumont Habitat carried out the thermal insulation of the facades from the outside for several months. These large surfaces, plain and empty, will be personalised with frescoes whose themes have been chosen by the inhabitants, in order to associate them with the global project of this renovation.
Today, the CitéCréation team is starting this mural project, preparing the tracings in its workshops.
Soon, the realization in situ will take place for the greatest pride of the inhabitants who contributed to the mural work.
