Two Domanys buildings to be renovated and beautified – in Chablis – L’Yonne Républicaine (July 2018)
Domanys will renovate its two buildings in the Picard and Pasteur districts. The technical renovation will be accompanied by the realization of wall paintings.
The two Domanys buildings in the Picard and Pasteur district of Chablis will undergo major renovation. This rehabilitation will first be technical, with external thermal insulation of the premises, external painting, repair of the halls and car parks, replacement of external PVC joineries with roller shutters and creation of new boiler rooms.
Each of the seven entries will represent a grand cru
Inside the apartments, bathrooms will be refurbished, sinks and toilets will be replaced, radiators will be replaced and floors will be repaired.
This technical renovation will be accompanied by an embellishment by the realization of monumental wall frescoes. Domanys called on CitéCréation, a Lyon-based company with several hundred programmes to its credit, throughout the world. The social landlord also wanted the inhabitants of the neighbourhood to be fully involved in the project. Gathered several times by the CitéCréation, they gave the outline of what they wanted in terms of graphics for their buildings.
It emerged from these meetings the will to sublimate the places by taking inspiration from the local context, namely the vineyard of Chablis. Thus, each of the seven entries will represent a great vintage of the appellation. Saint-Vincent, local heritage, Chablis colours and the international dimension of Chablis will inspire the murals whose models will be finalised in September.
The technical rehabilitation works and the artistic project will be carried out simultaneously from the end of 2018.
The first murals should be completed in spring 2019. The total cost of this rehabilitation is estimated at 3,820,205 € per Domanys.
