They see Limoges as a big city – Le Populaire du Centre

An imposing mural to the glory of Limoges has just been created in La Bastide.

At the beginning of July, four painters (including two young girls) from the Lyon-based company CitéCréation, which paints on building facades around the world, began a Bleu de Four decoration on the gable at 24 rue Braque, visible to users of public transport lines 2 and 20 and to motorists using boulevard Robert-Schumann.
On the bottom of a vase by porcelain maker Camille Tharaud, the company chose to represent Limoges station.

Trolleys, castle…

Other motifs of this decoration: the first trolleybuses, the castle of La Bastide (which is about 700 metres away) and a character now very well known in Limoges, L’Homme en Bleu. The company in question started in 1920 with twenty workers, including three painters.  Between 1943 and 1945, it had thirty-six workers, twenty-six of whom were painters, and in 1968, only one painter remained…
